Abstract

The research in the thesis entitled "Aesthetic Study of the Welcome Dance of Langen Thengul Bojonegoro Regency". This research aims to find out the value of beauty contained in the Langen Thengul Dance with the formulation of the problem, namely How is the aesthetics of the Langen Thengul Dance as a welcome dance in Bojonegoro Regency?. In this paper, the author tries to analyze using Dewitt H. Parker's analysis which consists of six principles, namely the principle of unity, the principle of theme, the principle of theme variation, the principle of balance, the principle of development, and the principle of hierarchy. In this study, a qualitative research method is used by describing in the form of words with data collection methods, namely interviews, observations, reading books or articles, as well as audio and video documentation. The result of this research is that the Langen Thengul Dance Work is a work of performing art that creates a harmonious unity with the combination of the main elements and supporting elements. The beautiful impression that emerges is created from the movements performed by the dancers, the arranged floor patterns, the supporting accompaniment, and the arrangement of makeup and fashion in accordance with the concept of their work. Based on the impression and message of the sense of movement, sense of music, sense of clothing, and composition, the beauty of the Langen Thengul Dance Work lies in the characters that appear, namely graceful characters as a welcome dance or a dance to welcome guests.
