Abstract

Abstract Wanci Kahuripan’s dance work is based on the life of the first gandrung dancer in Banyuwangi, Mbah Semi. There are so many moral message and life values contained in Mbah Semi’s life from Mbah Semi being an ordinary child to becoming a gandrung figure who who rose to fame in his time. The highlight of this dance work is his struggle to stay strong to become a famous gandrung dancer after Mbah Marsan. The realization of this Wanci Kahuripan dance work cannot be separated from research actions with Mbah Semi’s family as reseurce persons, this action is carried out by the authors by observing various book sources to strengthen the responsibility of a dance work, so that the authors examine the sources of data obtained to be applied to adance work. The author concludes that Wanci Kahuripan’s dance work has positive values in everyday life, where we are able able to be responsible and also instill the intention in our hearts to be the best. With the Wanci Kahuripan dance, the author wants to provide a performance presentation that will later be useful for everyone. The artist wants to convey his message through this work, where the nature of Mbah Semi will be attached to a strong woman. Keywords: Strong Woman, Reflection, Responsibility
