Abstract

WC IDIOM AS A SYMBOL OF REPRESENTATION IN CREATION PAINTING WORKS By: MOCH. QUSNUL YAKIN Undergraduate Fine Arts Study Program Wilwatikta College of Arts Surabaya 2022 ABSTRACT The process of creating this painting also requires a method to explain in detail the steps involved in the creation process. The purpose of this creation is to: Create a painting that functions for self-expression and self-expression in the crea-tion of a work. The methods used in data collection include experience and direct observation (observation), references from books and through the internet. The idea taken is to make a painting with the atmosphere of the environ-ment around the house, the corner room of the house and especially the toilet or WC room. In my painting, I use space more dominantly. In making art, I take the dominant style of expressionism and dark coloring techniques to make it look dirty or depict a difficult life. The concept in making my work is that the shabby spaces around me are a form of personal expression and reflection in my life. In the past, there were many activities of living things there, and goods or garbage scattered outside the settle-ments, for the livelihood of the surrounding community to be processed or sold to junk sellers. This means that the activities of living things there used to work hard to meet the needs of life and their families. However, from all that it must still be able to provide complete and clear information as well as visually and verbally efficient-ly. There are 12 pieces of work made with various sizes. The smallest size is 60x80 cm and the largest is 120x150 cm. Keywords: Idiom WC, Creation, Painting
