Abstract

ABSTRACT A dance performance has its own uniqueness and purpose in the choreography that is presented. The dance works created by Bimo Wijayanto get a lot of inspiration from natural phenomena and the socio-cultural life of the local community. Like the Gambyong Mari Kangen dance which was inspired by Gambyong Tayub as part of the Tulungagung Regency's Birthday. The resulting choreography is a difference from the impact of Bimo Wijayanto's experience. This dance has a positive impact on the traditional arts of East Java. Provides many benefits in education, economics, and other fields. Mari Kangen's gambyong dance work in its development is very suitable as teaching material to develop the talents of children and adolescents. To increase creativity in artistic creation, the Gambyong Mari Kangen dance provides presentations that have been packaged in such a way, so that they can be studied and preserved to maintain the diversity of works of art in East Java. The choreography of the Gambyong Mari Kangen dance was reviewed through text broadcast criticism by Andre Hardjana to analyze and interpret according to the researchers' absorption of the Gambyong Mari Kangen dance choreography.
