Abstract

Beksan Kamantakah dance is one of the creative dances that refers to traditional dance movements. Beksan in the context of the Javanese language generally means dance, while Kamantakah is a pair of heirloom weapons in the form of a spear (ghaman) left by Prince Cakra Adiningrat V which is used to ward off disaster. The presentation of this dance must be performed by female dancers with odd numbers such as three, five, seven, and nine while in the presentation of this dance it must be done in a clean (sacred) state. Beksan Kamantakah dance is a type of beddhaya dance that has been created and developed in Bangkalan Regency. This dance was created by Mr. Sudarsono as the head of the "Tarara" studio in 2002. This dance is used for official weddings, Bangkalan Regency anniversaries, National holidays and other events such as welcoming tourism guests. The value in this Beksan Kamantakah dance conveys a message as an expression of gratitude to God Almighty and as a rejection of reinforcements so that the audience or guests present are protected from harm (balak). The method used in this research uses qualitative methods. Data collection methods used are literature study, observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used in this study uses the theory of existence (existence), creative dance, and dance forms. The results of the research analysis are described in the form of Beksan Kamantakah dance consisting of dance structure, movement, make-up, fashion, dance music and vocals/poems, property, number of dancers, and stage. The existence of the Beksan Kamantakah dance whose existence is not only used by the people of Bangaklan Regency but is used outside Bangkalan Regency. In every month this dance is invited to celebrate the manten, except during the fasting month. The existence of this dance more or less has an impact on the economic value of the actors and the studio.
